I'm starting to wonder. Vice President Foot-in-Mouth once scolded us, saying that paying higher taxes was "patriotic". The US Senate has decided that tax evasion is not such a bad thing after all, as long as you're a liberal Democrap who has been nominated to serve as a cabinet secretary. In 60-34 vote, the Senate said Timothy Geithner's tax evasion qualifies him to oversee the Treasury Department (and, consequently, the IRS). I guess they figured that his violation of the law makes him qualified. He is better equipped to uphold the law specifically because he has broken the law. Makes sense, doesn't it?
